Charles E. "Chick" Herbert Lecture in Architecture: Bart Akkerhuis
Bart Akkerhuis is an architect and founder of Paris-based Studio Akkerhuis, an award-winning design firm that has grown rapidly since its founding in 2014 while working on a variety of high-profile projects. He will present "In Five Short Years," the 2019 Charles E. "Chick" Herbert Lecture in Architecture, as a part of the Architecture Premiere 2019 celebration of the new academic year.

Family-Friendly Activity: Build Your Own Blanket Fort
Children and adults alike are invited to build a blanket fort in the Design on Main Gallery during the Octagon Art Festival. The activity is part of the "Hide and Seek" interactive exhibition by installation artist Julia Franklin on display Aug. 27-Sept. 28 in the gallery.
