Photography Class: Night Photography
Learn how to capture images of the moon, star trails and city lights as Mark Stoltenberg helps you practice the techniques of taking night images with existing light. The class will meet one night on Main Street to shoot the city lights (date to be determined). Four-part course on Wednesdays, Oct. 1-22.

The private bonsai collections of Iowa Bonsai Association members will be on display at Reiman Gardens for the Annual Fall Bonsai Show. The show will be open to the public from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with presentations and informal demonstrations each day.

Class: Beginner Photography
This is a four part course on Tuesdays, October 7, October 14, October 21, and October 28 from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m. This four-part workshop will cover the basics of photography including equipment and how to use it, depth of field, aperture, light, composition, finding your subject and tips and tricks. Each class is broken into 3 parts: classroom discussion, hands-on practice taking pictures by the students and review of the images taken.

"Monochromatic Arrangements." A monochromatic arrangement is an arrangement with tints, tones, and shades of a single hue -- this month inspired by the red planet. Learn the tips and skills used by professionals and create your own one-of-a-kind floral designs. All 2014 class topics were designed on a planetary theme.

Workshop: Make a Tiny 2D Terrarium
Use botanicals from Reiman Gardens in a tiny work of hand-crafted art. In this workshop, we will carefully press and dry flowers and foliage, mount them to paper, and cut them into clever shapes to assemble into unique paper terrariums that make a perfect holiday gift or shadowbox treasure. Preregistration and payment required by October 27.
