Executive In Residence Public Lecture
Mark Walker, the recently retired senior vice president of transportation for C.H. Robinson Worldwide, Inc., will give the fall 2014 College of Business Executive In Residence Lecture. His talk is titled, "Major in Supply Chain Today and Become a Leader Tomorrow" and will take place on Wednesday, November 5 in the Stark Lecture Hall, 1148 Gerdin Business Building.
Circumstantial Substantial: Martin Despang
Having lived and been educated in the tempered urban fabric of Germany, more extremely tempered Midwest, arid Southwest and Pacific Tropics of the United States made Martin Despang realize how geographies inform cultures. He will share his resulting synergistically professional and academic body of typological case studies forming a comprehensive system of well-being, which has been widely recognized in North and South America, Europe and Asia.

Spoon handles are used to make rings, but you can use the rest of the spoon to make an unconventional pendant or holiday ornament. Personalize it with letter stamps after flattening. Complete with beads and baubles to add personality.

Intermediate Knitting Class
Knit a pair of fingerless gloves perfect for staying cozy in the winter months while typing out your final paper or taking notes in a chilly lecture hall. Knitters will be introduced to knitting in the round, magic loop method, shaping techniques and basic cabling. These reversible fingerless gloves are easy enough for your first foray into circular knitting, but the cabled detail adds a bit of flair.

Film: Rape for Profit
This powerful documentary by Mew Films hopes to shed light on the growing problem of human trafficking and uncover the solution to the atrocities happening to Seattle's daughters, nieces and friends. Rape For Profit partners with local law enforcement, teen shelters and non-profit organizations to help educate the city of Seattle on what is going on right in front of them.

Youth Program: Caterpillar Club
"Let's Go to the Moon" If you like Kids Story Time, you'll flip for Caterpillar Club! Please join us for winter storytelling twice per month, from October to March. Each gathering features a theme as we read aloud two or three books, and wrap up with related cooperative activities and crafts great for groups and individuals alike. Materials are intended for children ages two to seven years old, & all children must be accompanied by an adult.
