Early Achievement in Teaching Award winner Marna Yandeau-Nelson (GDCB) will share her journey from lecture-based learning to Socratic method teaching, how she creates warm and welcoming learning environments rich with questions, and techniques for constructing spaces where students feel safe enough to risk failure.
Participants will leave this session with tools for adaptation: how to think about course design in curricular sequence contexts, how to discover and accept your personal teaching style, and how to help students become comfortable with the transition skills they will need in their futures.
