This topic-based teaching and learning community meets throughout the academic year. We work as teams to optimize application exercises, readiness assurance tests, peer evaluation, and other aspects of course design, and also invite speakers to facilitate discussions of TBL theory, research and classroom application.

Are you concerned about the fairness of your peer assessments or the possibility of bias? In this session, we will outline findings from the literature about peer assessment bias and how it manifests in the classroom. We will also present empirical findings of bias in peer assessment data, what to look for in your own peer assessments and learning teams, and strategies for addressing this bias. Additionally, we will discuss an opportunity to participate in research that aims to implement and evaluate peer assessment bias training in classrooms during the Spring 2021 semester.
