Join University Museums for the Curators Associates Reception at Morrill Hall where we will celebrate the installation of one of the newest additions to the permanent collection, Karen LaMonte's Nocturne 5. The large scale cast glass human form draped in a meticulously arranged textile was created through a painstaking process that exemplifies the translucent beauty of sculptural glass.

LaMonte is an internationally recognized glass artist and her nearly life-size cast glass figures explore many ideas related to the human form as an artistic medium. This new sculpture engages University Museums emphasis on furthering the figurative tradition found in the arts on campus that began with artist-in-residence Christian Petersen, while also adding a significant contemporary glassmaker to the encyclopedic glass collection already held by University Museums. This event is open to all.

FREE SHUTTLE - shuttle every 15 min. from the Scheman Building north parking lot beginning at 4:15 p.m. and ending at 6:15 p.m. Additional parking in the Memorial Union ramp and Armory, fees apply.
