Concert: Iowa Statesmen
The Iowa Statesmen, one of the region's leading men's choirs, is directed by James Rodde. The ensemble specializes in the performance of traditional and contemporary male chorus literature.
Creativity in Challenging Times: Art for ISC in the New Deal Era
Drawing upon the exhibition, Artists of an Era: A New Deal, Iowa Artists, and Iowa State College, this vividly illustrated lecture by Joni Kinsey, Ph.D., will explore how ISC administrators and faculty collaborated with federal programs to develop a lively arts scene that established Iowa as a national model.
Argentine Tango Drop-In Lessons
This Milonga (dance party) is a multi-level class with lots of time to enjoy the music and dance. Classes meet every Sunday and drop-ins are welcome. Purchase a dance punch card and attend as often as your schedule allows. Open to ages 18+.
Concert: Cantamus, Lyrica, and Count Me In ensembles
A storytelling concert inspired by artist Jennifer Drinkwater's What's Good Project. Cantamus and Lyrica will tell the stories of change-makers from the Mississippi delta to current-day Ames, Iowa accompanied by a visual art exhibition in the Music Hall lobby. Plus the premiere of a piece by ISU alumna Kirsten Ludewig and a very special collaboration with the Sing Me a Story Foundation and ISU student composer, Jarod Hart.
Cyclone Cinema: Longlegs
Cyclone Cinema is presented by the Student Union Board and showcases a variety of film genres, screening a different movie every weekend Thursday - Sunday during the semester. Sunday film screenings are in open caption format. All other screenings can be open caption as well, as long as the request is made to the staff prior to the movie starting.
