Stories are how people understand the world, weaving together fact and emotion. Compared to other forms of communication, these narratives can be more successful in generating interest and engagement with a topic; improving comprehension; and influencing real-world beliefs, even among skeptical audiences.
The Story Collider was founded in 2010 by Ben Lillie and Brian Wecht, two physicists who met at a storytelling show in Queens and quickly realized that they could do that, too. Since then, The Story Collider has been bringing true, personal stories about science to life. The organization's founders have used what they've learned about science and stories to teach scientists to use narrative.
