Developing global competencies is vital for our undergraduates and ourselves. Award-winning Morrill Professor Gail Nonnecke, Horticulture and Global Resource Systems, and David Acker, Associate Dean of Academic and Global Programs in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences share how they developed and funded global experiences for their students.

Dr. Nonnecke will show how she created a transformative immersion experience where students teach agriculture, health, and sanitation in Ugandan primary schools, as well as establish and work in school food plots that provide nutrients and income for the community. Dr. Acker will discuss the collaborations, donations, grants, and contributions that made this possible. Learn how to replicate, fund, and institutionalize enriching global experiences for yourself, your students, and your department.
