Editor-in-chief Lars Pearson of the sci-fi book publisher Mad Norwegian Press will reveal why some submissions to his Hugo-award-winning press make the cut and others don't. Sponsored by The Writers' Guild of ISU; all are welcome.

Pearson, a former staff member at Wizard and InQuest magazines, has seen it all -- and most of it is boring, boring, boring! If you'd like to publish essays in collections such as Mad Norwegian's 2011 Hugo Award-winning Chicks Dig Time Lords: A Celebration of Doctor Who by the Women Who Love It, you need to be innovative and exciting to editors.

The Mad Norwegian knows what he's talking about. Two books from Pearson's press, Chicks Unravel Time and Chicks Dig Comics, are current nominees on the Hugo ballot for 2013. Listen to Lars and (with sufficient gall and daring) boost your writing prospects.
