"The Creationist Down the Hall: The Extent and Impact of Teaching Evolution and Creationism in Public Schools," Randy Moore, University of Minnesota. This seminar will document the extent of creationism-based beliefs in biology classrooms, as well as recent research documenting the impact of the teaching of evolution and creationism on the views of college students.

Despite decades of science education reform, numerous court decisions rejecting the teaching of creationism, endorsements of evolution by numerous professional organizations, state science-education standards that mandate the teaching of evolution, and overwhelming evidence supporting evolution, creationism remains popular with both the public and with biology teachers in public schools.
